Rumours and misunderstandings of
DOUBLE FANTASY to FOOD FOR FANTASY
Food For Fantasy? To some maybe still famously as a track on the legendary successful album UNIVERSAL AVE. from DOUBLE FANTASY, to the Original. The Original? Yes, DOUBLE FANTASY was middle of 80th developed by ROBERT SCHROEDER in all steps of the idea, composed and produced, up to the product ready for publication. Then this product was offered to various record companies and was published, in the end of 1986 on the IC-label. This original version (cover with sundown) was published in the USA with a bonus track "Stranger in Space" (the same cover). Robert Schroeder`s DOUBLE FANTASY / Universal Ave. attained prominent results (200,000 CDs in the first sales year) and reached the US charts.
Actually, it would have subsequent albums of Schroeder's DOUBLE FANTASY must give, because there was a several years' contract. Nevertheless, Schroeder came into conflict with the label from Hamburg which pulled several years of court processes with itself and just Schroeder's refusal, other music of his successful project DOUBLE FANTASY to produce. Robert Schroeder also has no other one if DOUBLE FANTASY album produced and therefore there really is till this day only this one first LP CD UNIVERSAL AVE. from Schroeder's original DOUBLE FANTASY.
Then the Hamburg label published unconventionally the original music of Universal Ave. with a new cover (bursting light bulb). First a new CD was got to believe here in the buyer and secondly the ways of the record company were already put with textual attributes to rob Schroeder's DOUBLE FANTASY around his results and to let imitate from other musicians (e.g. changed DOUBLE FANTASY at first into D.Fantasy and later into Dancing Fantasy. Then on Dancing Fantasy it was suggested, Schroeder would deal something with it "featuring Dreamstar und McLion". From Charly McLion, Schroeder's guitarist on original Double Fantasy, Curtis McLaw was done, to call only few examples).
All the other pseudo-Double-Fantasy-releases like "Dancing Fantasy" or also the CD "Double Fantasy / Food For Fantasy" from the 90th have nothing to do with Robert Schroeder, are not authorised by him and are copied purely and simply and sometimes also very badly. The IC release at that time "Double Fantasy / Food for Fantasy" contains only 3 tracks from the album Double Fantasy / Universal Ave., and this seemingly even to do to faith the whole CD would be from Schroeder's original Double Fantasy.
These few examples show that there is a lot of clarification need in the general public around the rumours of Double Fantasy. And, besides, this especially, so that by the new publication queuing now of Schroeder's original FOOD 4 FANTASY is not gone out from the misbelief, it concerns again only a counterfeit or boiled material from old times. No, Robert Schroeder's new release "FOOD FOR FANTASY / the secret of dreamin" is really the 2nd album after the original release "Universal ave." from DOUBLE FANTASY. A lot of fun.
